USB Raptor 0.0.0.247 Beta | 10.1 Mb
The security of your data is very important, and it is a good idea to have a way of protecting your computer from prying eyes when you are away. With USB Raptor, you can use a flash drive as key for locking and unlocking your computer. Once you have set the flash drive, your computer will lock whenever you remove it, and unlocking it is as easy as plugging in the drive.
USB Raptor works by writing a special unlock file to the selected drive, which is encrypted. The program keeps checking for the file, and if it does not find it, it automatically locks the computer. The processes of locking and unlocking are automated, which means you do not need to do anything apart from plugging your USB drive either in or out.
The program interface gives you simple and clear configuration options, which are easily accessible. You will need to assign a password to your chosen USB drive, and then the program will create the lock file it requires to keep your computer unlocked. You may also assign a password for accessing the programs interface for added security, as this will prevent anyone who accesses your computer with the USB drive plugged in from modifying its settings and password.
It uses either USB Raptor lock or System lock modes. You may set it to lock your computer by selecting and changing the color of the lock screen at specified intervals. You can also set the number of seconds you would like to pass before your computer gets locked, and you may then cancel the lock during this time-frame to prevent unwanted locks.
You can either enable or disable two other methods of unlocking your computer. You may set a password to be typed on the lock screen or the ability to send a special network message to unlock the system.
USB Raptor supports all types of USB flash discs.
