We always claim to see the world through rose colored glasses .but how about rose trimmed glasses? In honor of the widespread floral trend and our love of Dolce & Gabbana's Baroque-inspired fall collection, we're DIYing a pair of outrageously fabulous sunglasses using the same charming.
A simple, yet affordable way to make ‘Flower Sunglasses.’ These sunglasses first appeared in Dolce and Gabbana’s Baroque inspired 2012 Fall collection, making them a hit in the DIY world. What I love about them is the costume like feel they have, but the fact that they can be worn on the daily, specially throughout this summer season!
Floral Sunglasses
These Floral Sunglasses are so easy to make. They add a cute flower at the temple of a plain pair of sunnies and are a fraction of the price you would pay for a retail pair.
These are inspired by the widespread floral trend and our love of Dolce & Gabbana‘s Baroque-inspired fall collection These will surely be a pair of shades you won’t go unnoticed next summer!
Ingredients:
-a pair of sunglasses
-a variety of ceramic roses and flowers
-disposable container or popsicle stick
-a handful of toothpicks
-E6000
Directions:
Start by squeezing a small amount of E6000 into a disposable container or onto a wooden popsicle stick. I like to use a small amount at a time, as the glue tends to dry quickly. Using the tip of a toothpick, apply a dollop of glue onto the back of the largest ceramic flower.
Press the flower firmly onto the outer corner of the sunglasses. Hold it in place, for at least a minute, until the glue sets. Working along the top of the glasses, continue to add smaller flowers.
Add a few small flowers down the right side of the glasses. After most of the flowers have set, unfold the sunglasses and add a couple of larger flowers on the temples or arms.
Repeat on the other side and allow to dry for a couple of hours.
Your floral shades are ready to wear!
