Natural Home Remedy, How to Stop Vomiting During Pregnancy

Natural Home Remedy, How to Stop Vomiting During Pregnancy

Pregnancy sickness is common and not usually harmful to you or your baby. However, severe vomiting may mean that you aren't getting enough nutrition. This could cause you to become dehydrated and lose weight.

Feeling so sick can affect your daily routine. Going to work, or just getting out and about, can become difficult. When the sickness is this bad it is called hyperemesis gravidarum (HG), which means excessive vomiting in pregnancy.

It usually occurs in early pregnancy and requires prompt medical attention. The sooner you get treatment the better the chance of preventing your sickness from getting worse. And you may get relief from your symptoms more readily.

Your doctor may carry out blood tests and urine tests, to look for other possible causes of your sickness.

If you are finding it difficult to keep any food down, your doctor should offer anti-sickness drugs or antihistamines, which are safe for your baby. You may have to try a few until you find relief. If antihistamines don't help, other more suitable drugs may be given.

If you still aren't feeling well, you may have to stay in hospital. You can get the fluids, vitamins and minerals you need via a drip. You may also be given anti-sickness medicine via the drip or by injection.
